What it is:
Introducing our very own Matcha whisk, specially designed for preparing matcha. In Japanese, a whisk is called "chasen" (茶筅) and is traditionally made from bamboo. These whisks have been used for hundreds of years in tea ceremonies. Our whisks are carefully handcrafted, with the bamboo being delicately cut into 80 fine prongs using a small knife.
Why we love it so Matcha:
Using a whisk helps you get a perfectly creamy frothy matcha with a smooth consistency as it allows to mix the powder, water and air to release aromas and essences.
How To Use:
Move your whisk in a bowl in a ziz zag motion in a W or M shape. Keep whisking for at least 20 seconds until there is a nice froth and no clumps left.
Care:
Remember to clean your whisk after each use, avoiding the dishwasher. Instead, gently whisk it in a bowl of warm water without using soap. Afterward, allow it to air dry thoroughly by placing it on a whisk holder or upside down.
